Postdoctoral Fellow // Harvard University // 2023-Current

Jointly appointed between the MaP+S Group at the Graduate School of Design and the Lewis Lab at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Teaching Fellow // Harvard University Graduate School of Design // 2019-2020

Served as the Teaching Fellow for Introduction to Computational Design and Nano, Micro, Macro: Adaptive Material Laboratory in the Fall of 2019. Served as the Teaching Fellow for Informal Robotics: New Paradigms for Design and Construction in the Spring of 2020.

Lecturer // University of Michigan // Fall 2017

Teaching one section of Architecture 537 - Fabrication, titled On Repeat. Students are asked to complicate the form of a primitive geometry using a custom-built algorithmic growth script that replicates various growth patterns of natural materials. The students then produce these geometries out of sheet material, requiring them to unroll the complex forms into 2D patterns and reassemble them through folding. The process seeks to teach students about material-centric modeling approaches and allows them to push the boundaries of 3D to 2D to 3D translations.

MICHIGAN

International masterclass instructor // University of Technology Sydney // December 2017

Lead a two-week intensive summer masterclass at UTS’s Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building with Dr. Tim Schork and Tran Dang. Participants ranged from undergraduates to graduates and had their first introduction to robotic fabrication through the course. Students developed new patterning techniques to explore the materiality of robotically extruded cable-net structures using a UR10 6-axis industrial robot with a custom end effector. The final result of the masterclass was a full-scale cable-net installation in the entry lobby of the DAB building.
